Gaynes Park Manor, a Life Care Residential Care Home in Joslin, South Australia, has now received the coveted Gold Standard Accreditation from the Dementia Services Development Centre (DSDC), part of Stirling University in the UK.
The Gold Standard represents DSDC’s highest possible achievement in dementia design. Gaynes Park Manor is the first recipient of this accreditation in the Southern Hemisphere, something that again confirms Gaynes Park Manor as one of, if not the premier Residential Care Home in Australia. This accreditation brings to four the number of national and international awards for Gaynes Park Manor.

The winter edition of Leading Age Services Australia's Fusion Magazine featured an article discussing Life Care's international collaboration with the Stirling University's (UK) Dementia Services Development Centre and Marchese Partners Architects. This collaboration was a critical part of Life Care winning the 2018 ASIAPAC Eldercare Innovation Award for Best Silver Architecture In-Construction. We are very excited to announce that in Singapore on Wednesday 16 May 2018, our newest residential living community, Gaynes Park Manor, won the 2018 Eldercare Innovation Award for Best Silver Architecture in Construction. The award was for “Best universal design with social, health and wellness engagement spaces for older adults.”

Life Care's Call Assist call system is a significant innovation for the aged care industry, replacing traditional 'nurse call bells' with a wearable device that tracks resident and staff movement, and enables residents to call for support wherever they are located. This new technology was featured on 9 News Adelaide's 6 o'clock news along with a few our Gaynes Park Manor residents and our CEO, Allen Candy.

This was a significant day for Life Care as we celebrated the official opening of our newest Residential Living community, Gaynes Park Manor. Around 70 staff were joined by dignitaries including The Honourable David Pisoni MP, Minister for Industry and Skills, and Senator Lucy Gichuhi.

The leading South Australian aged care providers have announced the new joint venture entity named Australian Ageing and Wellness Services (AA&WS) which recently secured its first contract to deliver coaching and development services over the next 12 months to a new aged care provider in Yantai, Shandong.

The medication charting system, known as MediMap, is an electronic prescribing and medication charting tool for the aged and community care sector.

The Australian Government rolled out landmark changes on Monday 27 February that will improve the way that home care services are delivered to older South Australians. Life Care at Home currently supports close to 1,000 older South Australians requiring support in their own home and assistance with opportunities outside of the home such as transportation to and from appointments.
