Life Care's retirement living communities are for people aged 55 years and over and not working full time. Consideration may be given to people with special needs if a written application has been submitted to the Retirement Living Co-ordinator.
Life Care will provide homes (including Rental) for residents who wish to live independently within a small community and are able to manage their life independently, meet the entry contribution requirements, and are aware of their rights and responsibilities as a resident of a retirement village. Retirement village residents are fully independent and any special support services e.g. Meals on Wheels, is the responsibility of the resident to access as required.
The waiting list varies depending on each village. There is no set time but generally the waiting time is 2-5 years, with some villages being longer or shorter. People on our waiting list will be contacted in the order they register their interest as soon as a home becomes available.
Open inspections are held when a home becomes vacant. Potential residents including those on our waiting list will be contacted and invited to the inspection when scheduled.
Prior written consent must be obtained for any animals (including birds) to be permitted in homes. As a condition of any such consent, residents are required to sign and abide by our pet guidelines.
Residents living in our retirement communities are fully independent and care for themselves. Importantly however, residents will be treated with a degree of priority for accessing higher levels of care within Life Care if suitable and if the appropriate level of care is available at the time of need.
